You hear of people wishing and hoping that they could be out of their jobs and in their own business but either they don’t take the action to begin that endeavor or they start and then quit the venture too soon.

As with any undertaking, the only way to be successful at it is to have an impenetrable belief in it. Statistically, a huge amount of businesses fail in the first five years because of lack of belief. At some point entrepreneurs with an employee mindset don’t believe that they can continue and therefore the business dissolves.

A belief in something can be cultivated by simply finding evidence and proof that it is so. If in business is where you want to be then all you have to do is look around and see an exorbitant amount of thriving businesses. There’s all the evidence that you’d need to know that you can succeed if you want to.

The following are a few ways that one can begin to shift their mindset from one of an employee to one of an entrepreneur:

1. Clearly identify what it is that you want to accomplish. You need to know where you are going in order to get there.

2. Begin to recognize your limiting beliefs. What have you been telling yourself that has prevented you from getting to where you want to be in life?

3. Replace those nasty limiting beliefs with a total opposite statement. For example,
-- Limiting belief -- I don’t have any money to start a business.

-- New belief -- I am in control of my life, I will find the money to achieve my success.

4. Start to visualize the person you want to become. Take the time to really see yourself in this new light and it will surely become more real for you.

5. Persist without exception. Never, ever give up.

Once you begin the process of change you will gain momentum and that’s when the new beliefs takeover. Online business can often have their ups and downs. Sometimes it may be hard to know where it is going. But did you know that with positive motivation, your online business can be more successful and easier to manage? In fact positive motivation can make your life much more rewarding on a daily basis.

Motivation is defined as the force that makes us do things. It is the result of our individual needs to be met...the inspiration to complete a task at hand. Positive motivation is when you use inspirational and enlightening means to motivate yourself or other people.

Size is not relevant with regards to how positive motivation can affect your online business. Whether you are the only employee or if you staff hundreds, the right positive motivation can help your online business achieve its goals in a more substantial manner. If you or your employees are more motivated, you will then produce more output. This means that you can achieve whatever your business goals are. Whether it is gaining more profits, reaching a sales goal, promoting your website, or gaining more customers... this task is best achieved when people are positively motivated.

People respond better to positive motivation. Positive motivation can be enthusiastic chats about a goal you wish to reach and praise when that goal is attained. Motivational posters in the boardroom is another example of positive motivation. All of this will promote teamwork, which is essential for your online business to thrive. It will also lead to you or your employees being happier. Happy people mean people that are happier to do the tasks at hand.

Positive motivation and how it can help you achieve your daily goals can be further realized in this quote by a famous motivational author, Napoleon Hill: "Your mental attitude gives power to everything you do. If your attitude is positive, your actions and thoughts further your ends. If your attitude is negative, you are constantly undermining your own efforts." This means that through a positive attitude, you can motivate yourself and others to do great things. Another quote by Napoleon Hill: "The more you give, the more you get." This means that the more positive motivation you give, the more positive results you will obtain.

Positive motivation can help you have a more positive outlook with regards to your online business. It can also help you have a more positive outlook on life. With positive motivation, your business is sure to flow with more fluidity. This will result in you and possibly your employees being happier and with your business being more successful Author : Hariprasad Chowta Links : www.bekhammysyte.com and www.bekhammysyte.com/quickinfo

7 Ways to Juice Up Your Creativity

Looking for ways to get your creativity in full swing? Invite your fertile mind out to play with these no-nonsense tips to enliven your creativity:

1) Get Away From it All. A vacation can be highly productive. Taking time off from the daily grind rejuvenates your body and mind, allowing fresh thinking and extra creativity. Even if you can’t travel, “get away” by allowing yourself to dream. Spend some quiet time reflecting on your life and wishes.

Ask yourself: What would I do if I had no chance of failure?

2) Use Your Body. We spend so much of our lives THINKING, reasoning and over-engineering our decisions. It’s surprising that smoke doesn’t come out of our ears! Let the innate wisdom of your body stimulate your creative mind. Swim, hike, dance -- or whatever does it for you -- and feel new ideas flow.

Tune into any physical sensations you have with the ideas you get. What do those sensations tell you?

3) Make a Creative Vision Board Use old magazines and found objects to create a collage that represents what you want in your life. Choose pictures, items and phrases that really resonate with you.

Keep your creative vision somewhere you can see it for daily inspiration.

4) Play With Children or Pets. Pets and kids have the most refreshing take on life. Play with your loved ones and let your uninhibited creativity roam. What possibilities are there for you if you don’t have to be productive or care what others think?

Rover won’t tell!

5) Mind Map. Draw a mind map as you are thinking through an issue to help stimulate your creative thinking. A mind map helps you see possibilities and connections between thoughts.

To do it: Write your idea in the center of a large piece of paper, then “brain dump” using branching lines, colors, key words and sketches to capture related ideas. The resulting picture shows clusters of ideas branching from your central issue.

6) Explore Seek new experiences -- new places, concepts, people. You’ll start to see connections between ideas you hadn’t previously noticed. Each week have a date with your creativity. Go to the bookstore to browse publications you wouldn’t otherwise read. Visit a hobby shop or garden center. Check out a new museum, or show. Fresh experiences bring fresh thinking.

What's new for you? Challenge: Go explore something new in the next 24 hours!

7) Be Gentle With Yourself. Nothing squashes creativity faster than a harsh inner voice criticizing your ideas. Doesn’t your inner critic need a vacation too? When you hear that voice, visualize sending your inner critic away. Maybe it will miss its flight home!

Happy Creating!

Techniques To Personality Creativity

Sometimes, you perceive of your personality as someone who would not know creativity even if it knocked you on the head with a sledgehammer. And sometimes, you just come to the realization that you and creativity just would not mix. It is like oil and water for you and creativity, or so you think.

You must not give up. If you imagine feeling the wrath of Zeus every time you need to be creative, do not put a lid on it. All you need is a technique, a creativity technique.

Creativity techniques make your world a better place to live in. But just like everyone common world, these techniques also have bad points. Think of them as a giant tool box, with all you might ever need to build your own house. It has lots and lots of tools but you just have to pick the right one.

The first technique would be the basic model. With this model, you have to think of what it is that really hinders you on your personality path to creativity, and jot it down in non technical formal. Show what you wrote to people who have never experienced that kind of problem and ask them for ideas and for their opinions. You can also recommend to them thinking on it overnight or for a few days.

Once they speak up, take down any thoughts and ideas they air out regarding the "real" problem and any solutions that are of high potential. It is very essential that what they expect of your ability to utilize their ideas are put in a realistic perspective. You can develop or re-interpret the ideas they gave you to make them more workable for you.

But, of course, if you use ideas of other people, you cannot just use them just like that. You have to give a responsive feedback to whoever helped you to show that what they did is highly valued, appreciated and of productive use. If your helper receives a positive response of how his or her ideas were put to good use, his or her personality will be very glad and will accommodate your needs again.

Another creativity technique is the face-to-face networking model. This technique can only be workable if you are sure that your relationship with the one who helps you is built on trust. For instance, when your helper offers ideas that are somewhat naive, you still use these ideas to your advantage and not dismiss them immediately.

However, when worse comes to worse, some ideas can sometimes be too out of place that you and your helper need to talk on it. How could you do that? Simple. You just start a conversation at an informal personality face-to-face meeting at some bar or wherever it is that you would prefer.

If you do decide to use this personality approach, you must have non directive listening skills so that your helper's enthusiasm and interest are maintained. Show him or her that whatever it is that he or she is saying is being considered and well-thought of all the time, because if you do not do so, he or she will forget about offering creative ideas for you and you will find yourself in a muddy heap once again.

Basically, you do not have to carry the burden of creativity on your shoulders. There are lots of creativity techniques out there, you just have to know how to use them more effectively.

Fed up with self improvement? All you have to do is get yourself a billion dollars and then don’t pay the tax. How will anyone ever know?

Now I don’t want to speak out against paying taxes but we can talk about getting yourself a billion dollars. The first thing you need to know is that it is a darned near impossible dream. There are over six billion people on Earth and about seven hundred of them are billionaires. True, the odds increase if you count their spouses and children, but still it is clearly not an easy thing to achieve.

When thinking about just how extreme a task this is think about the easiest way to make money. Stealing. That is, after all, what the joke implies. Now think about where you could possibly steal a billion dollars from. What could you steal and sell for a billion dollars? Not a heck of a lot comes to mind. Really, it’s that much money.

But it has been done and therefore can be done. The key is to find your niche and make it work for you as best as it can. Further more, you need to find something that is no one else’s niche. The more people who want to achieve billionaire status the way you want to achieve it, the less likely it would happen.

Take software for instance. A decade ago that was the key. Microsoft made some billionaires as did Google. The market is still very vast but it is also flooded and the chances of finding something unique enough to capture that much of the market is no longer very likely.

The same is true for the retail world. When Walmart started up it was a relatively unique way of shopping. Its business plan was solid and consumers were very much into the attitude of the store so much so that it is still growing. Stores that have copied that format may have done well, but they haven’t churned out many billionaire owners.

If you’re like me and are finding it discouraging to come up with that killer original idea you can always keep your eyes open for other people’s. There have been a lot of successful investors over the years who have latched on to the right idea and took it for a ride to billionaire status. Some are able to spot something before it becomes a shooting trend while others make fortunes by investing in secure, non trendy, traditional stocks that go up, though slower.

I think the best idea for most of us is to aim to be multi millionaires first. Achieve this through a good selection of ever growing solid investments on the stock market and in real estate. Once you have secured yourself a hundred million or so then turning it in to a billion shouldn’t be much trouble at all.

Mika Hamilton is the editor of the Global Investment Institute Read More Free Investment & Wealth Creation Tutorials & Reviews at http://www.Global-Investment-Institute.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Mika_Hamilton

Are You Willing To Change Your Mind Set?

Have you ever experienced the habit of beating yourself up with guilt, worry, fear, even protecting yourself with fear, disapproving of yourself, feeling insecure, lacking control in your life, and having to figure everything out?

Are you willing to change your mind set, to get off the treadmill of negative thinking? Are you ready to learn how to trust yourself and others, to experience approving of yourself, feel safe, secure, to be in control of your life and have all the peace and happiness you deserve?

Above All Healing is an Energy Transformation Method, helping you to be spiritually, mentally, physically and emotionally in tune with your lifestyle needs, and the overall quest of humanity. The key to securing the happiness that is truly yours is to discover how to discharge the negative feelings you've accumulated. By discharging these negative feelings, you will not only increase the happiness in your life, but everything else will get better too! Money, health, relationships, looks, you name it!

The mind works just like a computer. It stores data, both positive and negative. Simply, you may require changing the way you are thinking, as this is the Law of Attraction. The simplest definition of this law is "like attracts like." other definitions include: You get what you think about, whether wanted or unwanted.

Whatever you are consciously or unconsciously focusing on in your life, you will attract more to you. Your inner world defines your outer physical experience.

Your subconscious mind is filled with beliefs and values which unconsciously direct your experiences. It is your inner world. Your conscious mind is the only tool that you have to change the content of your subconscious mind.

When we have awoken from the "dream like state", our purpose is to take control of both your conscious and unconscious minds and to focus them both on what you would like to experience from life.

To master the ‘Universal Law of Attraction’ is the most powerful force in the universe. Simply stated, the truth is that real success -- ultimately the only success -- is determined by how much we are in actual possession of ourselves. And by the light of this great fact of life, we can also see that the person who fears the loss of what he thinks is his success has not truly succeeded. Why is this true? The individual who lives with secret self-defining fears is not a self-possessing person but rather a person possessed, often pushed and punished by his fears.

To see the truth of these findings is to realize the need for a whole new way to succeed in life. And to come upon this new order of success calls to us to search out a totally different path through life, a new path we can climb only by calling on a whole new set of higher actions. We can begin our ascent to securing real success with the following new action:

We must begin the inner work of consciously proving to ourselves that there is nothing to fear, instead of allowing our fears to push us into a never-ending series of fearful actions. This suggested new action makes more sense the more we gain insight into our present notion of success; for if we look closely, we can see that contained right within it, although unseen at present, is the fear of failure. The real fear behind this idea of failing is our unconscious fear of losing our familiar, confident sense of self.

As long as what we think of as being our "success" in life harbors the secret fear of our self somehow being diminished by the loss of this same external source, then our sense of self does not belong to us. Under these conditions we are little more than unsuspecting victims subject to every vagrant wind of change that blows through the world of our enterprise... not a very pleasant or promising prospect, is it? Of course not. But it doesn't have to be this way. We can learn life's secret lessons about the nature of real success, and follow them all the way to the Real Life that is their source.

Guy Finley is one of today's brightest voices in the field of self-realization showing men and women everywhere how to find a life of freedom, enduring fulfillment, and true purpose. Director of the non-profit Life of Learning Foundation, Guy is the best-selling author of more than 30 books and audio albums on self-realization and higher success. You can’t move forward if you don’t have a website up and running. Following are website tips that Internet entrepreneurs of any level should follow. It doesn’t matter if you are new to the Internet business world or if you have logged in successful sales. You can always tweak your website to make it more effective.

Website Strategy #1: Forget what your Web Designer said! A Web Designer may make beautiful websites, but normally these types of websites are not effective in Internet business. Instead, you should follow the example of successful Internet entrepreneurs. You will see that their websites are much more toned down, which has proven to increase sales.

Website Strategy #2: Avoid using Java and Flash on your Internet business website. Java and Flash are unnecessary and can cause viewing problems for some website visitors. The last thing you want is for an Internet visitor to come across broken links because their Internet browser has trouble with Java and Flash.

Use straight HTML. Hyperlinks are easy to create. HTML is viewable in nearly all web browsers and loads quickly. You want to make your website easy to navigate through for the website visitor.

Website Strategy #3: Avoid using audio and video files on your Internet business website. Also avoid using several graphics. All of these have large file sizes and take a significant amount of time to load. Website visitors will become impatient and click off your page.

Note: If you do use graphic files then make sure to compress their file size. You can compress the file size of the graphics because you don’t need to have photo quality.

Website Strategy #4: Create a powerful, eye-catching header. Seek out a graphic designer that can create an effective header.

Website Strategy #5: Use headlines and direct response copy writing on all your websites. A great headline will catch the attention of a website visitor. If you decide to place a picture with your headline or on your website, make sure that the picture prompts the visitor to then read the headline or accompanying text.

Website Strategy #6: The purpose of your squeeze page is to generate leads. Your squeeze page must contain copy that prompts the visitor to subscriber to your list. Make sure that you also focus on driving traffic to your squeeze page.

Follow these strategies and you are well on your way to a thriving Internet business website.

Matt Bacak, The Powerful Promoter and Entrepreneur Magazine e-Biz radio show host, became a "#1 Best Selling Author" in just a few short hours. Humbert

I recently came across startling figures about the average American’s finances. Only 4% of us have significant savings when we hit age 65, and a majority of Americans have less than $1000 in savings. Perhaps even more troubling, nearly one-fifth of us have a negative net worth, meaning that we owe more in debt than the total value of our combined assets. In a land of wealth and opportunity, and in an age of unlimited freedom, attaining wealth is primarily a matter of choice and determination. The following are my suggestions for rapidly increasing your personal income and wealth.

1. Develop a healthy awareness of money. Most of us either ignore our cash flow and don’t have a budget, or we think of money as a "problem". Instead, begin thinking of it as energy, as a resource and as a tool to be managed and used wisely.

2. Develop a healthy desire for money. Money is neither evil nor the source of happiness. It is a tool that can be used well or badly, but most importantly it can be used to achieve many of life’s dreams and priorities. Having more of it increases your choices, and your responsibility.

3. Develop a healthy personal foundation. It is difficult to attract or keep money if your life is in chaos. To achieve significant wealth, pay attention to your attitude, your relationships, your values and your integrity. Money tends to flow to those who are prepared to handle it well.

4. Resolve ALL addictions. Substance abuse will obviously undermine any real ability to attract and manage large amounts of money, but other addictions are equally dangerous. Addictions to shopping, drama and excitement, to power or sex or a need to have the newest gadget will all destroy freedom of choice, and your ability to handle money responsibly.

5. Spend less than you make. An obvious point that most of us ignore. Have and use a budget, track your cash flow, decide what you need compared to what you want. Unless you use credit cards as a tool to monitor your spending, avoid using them at all. If you’re living on credit, juggling one card against another, get professional help!

6. Save a significant amount. Most experts recommend paying yourself first and saving anywhere from 5% to 20% of your income. The amount or percentage that you save is probably not as important as the principle. If at first you only save 1%, make that deposit every single week, do it without fail, and congratulate yourself! Even 1% is a great beginning!

7. Cut your spending by 25%. That’s a huge amount! For most of us, it’s also entirely possible. Take your lunch, buy less junk, rent a movie instead of going to the theater, make a picnic instead of dinner at a restaurant, re-cycle and repair rather than throwing things away and buying new. Live cheaper, simpler and closer to the earth.

8. Learn the principles of investing. Most community colleges have courses on investing in stocks, real estate, commercial property and even collectibles. Pick your preference, study hard, buy smart, and let your money work for you rather than you always working for money. But, never try to get rich quick! We’re talking about investing, not speculating.

9. Develop long-term passive income. Whether this is interest from bonds, profits from a business, or residuals from your last TV commercial, develop assets that will generate positive cash flow for years to come, whether you are working or not. Rental property has been a favorite, but so are stocks and mutual funds.

10. Develop wealth consciousness! This is a conscious, specific desire to be aware of money, to have money, and to use money to reflect your values and your priorities. Some of us virtually choose poverty because of our refusal to take responsibility for how we handle money. Others, live as misers and never use money to expand their horizons and develop their lives. You can decide to have a healthy, exciting and profitable relationship with money. Choose wisely. Start today!

© Copyright 2003 by Philip E. Humbert. All Rights Reserved. The whole concept of network marketing is to mentor people into the business & this allows people to achieve their goals by helping other people reach their own goals.

If your mind is open to new ideas & you are teachable then Network Marketing may be for you.

When we talk about network marketing people often have a negative image in their minds. They have either had a bad experience themselves or know someone who has had a bad experience & they never take network marketing seriously. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water as there are a lot of ordinary people who are very successful because they are in a network marketing business. They didn’t let the negative experience of some people close their mind to something as successful as network marketing.

When you start you get a business mentor to help you set up, establish & continue to grow your business. Your success is as important to them as their own success & this can be extremely empowering to know someone is there to help you succeed. Everyone in the business is following a proven business system. The person who is mentoring you already has a successful business & they can teach someone else to follow the same principles they have followed to be successful.
Once you decide network marketing may be for you there are some golden rules that allow you to be a successful network marketer & they are;

· Be Consistent

· Duplicate yourself

· Give the business enough time

You need to give the business consistent effort. Imagine you wanted to get fit & you decided I’ll go for a bike ride today. You go for a 4 hour ride come back exhausted & never go again. Will you end up fit? What if you went for an hour a day 4 days a week. You have done the same amount of activity but you are more likely to stick to your program. Only then can you achieve the results you desire. If you don’t put in the effort the end result will not just happen. To be a successful network marketer you need to put in consistent effort.

To duplicate yourself is the most important aspect of the business. You need to get your own business working the way you want it to work & then to teach other people the systems you use to be successful. Network marketing is a very simple business if you get this important step correct. Don’t be fooled to believing that it is not that simple, it is simple & successful network marketers understand this principle.

The last step is to give it enough time. Rome wasn’t built in a day & neither will your Network Marketing business. If you recruit one person per month into the business & the people you recruit also recruit 1 person per month after 6 months you have 64 people in your business, after 12 months you will have 4,096.

To be successful you need to be consistent & duplicate yourself. Over time the business will be successful as you have followed the 3 golden rules of network marketing & truly believe you can achieve what you want to achieve.

The author Sharon Negus helps people achieve financial & time freedom through Network Marketing.

This goal can be achieved by climbing a series of steps, each of which has been developed to build on the previous one. The following steps are necessary in order to achieve your ultimate goal of success.

S - Solo Focus

Your must have a laser like focus with no distractions. If you want to build your business to a massive size, it requires a constant focus on your goal. When you focus on your goal 3 things will happen:

1) You will become magnetic, radiate your presence, and people will be attracted toward you.
2)You will have conviction, the start of passion, and people will feel your conviction and get excited.
3) You will birth leadership, people want to follow someone who is focused on success.

There has never been a successful leader that lacked focus.

U - Unlocked Imagination

You must dare to dream. Most people have limited thinking and are programmed to think small. Dreaming will unlock creativity, and allow unlimited growth. You must get away from people with no imagination and negativity and radiate toward big thinkers and successful people.

C - Crystal Clear Path

You must know what the path to success is, and you MUST be able to TEACH this path. A logical progression of steps 1,2,3... are required to be successful. This path must be clearly marked to allow people to walk with you to your goal. You must know where you are going or success will be elusive. A clear, concise path allows you to teach others the way to success and that's were duplication comes in.

Success leaves footprints in the sand that you can follow. If you can't follow the footprints you may be on the wrong beach. A group of successful people is much stronger than any individual.

C - Connection to the Heart

Your heart is your success driver. You can accomplish anything you set your mind to if your emotion and heart are in it. You will inevitably fail if your heart is not in it. Ask yourself what do you value most in your life and connect that to the reason you are striving toward your goal.

E - Extraordinary Energy

Hype comes from the mind, energy comes from the heart. To be successful your whole presence must be energized. You can tap this energy by connecting to your heart, emotion, creativity, and faith. An energized, creative person who exudes positivism will draw a crowd of people looking to follow in their footsteps.

S - Skill Set

Most marketers have an inadequate skill set. If they were less than successful in the corporate world their skill set must be changed for success to occur in their own business. To be successful you must have strong skills focusing on; prospecting, presentations, following up, people skills, and communications. When you invest in personal growth a natural side effect of that will be development of your skill set.

S - Stop at Nothing

You must have a burning desire to succeed. No matter what people say, do, or think, you must remain positive and avoid negativity. Stay determined, focused and resolved to be a successful marketer and you WILL achieve your goals.

Position yourself in the $64 Billion Personal Development Industry. Is there such a thing as creating your own luck?

The answer is quite simple, those who succeed chose to 'do something' and do it now rather than later.

For example, imagine that 100 people read the exact same book that I did. I benefited from what was written and implemented the information in it to my advantage. Yet the other 100 people managed to come up with 100 different reasons why the book either wouldn't work for them or how it didn't fit their situation. The point being, everyone has choices available to him or her. They can choose to make money or choose to make excuses, it's really as simple as that! People who make excuses just leave more opportunities open to those of us who do want to succeed. Those who don't sit idly by and use golden opportunities to their best advantage all have one thing in common, they just got started and don't make excuses about why they can't!

There are thousands of reasons why you can't make a start today. The timing may not be right or you may be too busy today to make a start. Most people who do succeed are usually at the busiest time of their lives, so the real question here is, are you too busy to make money? Or maybe your computer is too slow or needs updating? Possibly the software you are using isn't right to start your internet business? People like that keep telling themselves "once I get this new software or computer then I'll start.... " and go along on their merry way looking for even more plans. All the while they are waiting, they are letting golden opportunities pass them by. These people are never going to make money with that attitude because the time will never be right. So once again the real question here is when is the right time to start making money?

Others wait until every one around them is making money from working hard on a realistic plan, then call them 'lucky'? There is no such thing as being 'lucky' in this situation. We all make our own luck by taking an opportunity with both hands and 'doing something' with it! How many books have you read this year? How many ideas have you implemented from your newfound knowledge? Be truthful now! If you buy a book, make it your goal to implement at least one idea you have found.

Take some responsibility for yourself. If you don't 'do something' nobody will jump up and do it for you. By being responsible for your own success, you will find that your goals and ambitions aren't really that far from you. Ask someone who is successful and they will tell you the same thing because it's true. If you are having trouble being successful, be aware that you have the tools and opportunities. All that you need is to 'do something' about it. Create your own luck.

Jaz Lai is an Online Home Business Expert where he created $10,045 sales just by sending out 5 emails without any list or product.

There are conditions that are conducive to better thinking, and plants that increase blood flow to the brain. There are little "tricks" that can give you an immediate brainpower boost, and habits you can develop for a more permanent improvement in brain function. Here are six things you can try right now or over the coming days to prove to yourself that improved mind power is possible.

Exercise Helps The Brain

Long term exercise can boost brainpower, which isn't surprising. Anything that affects physical health in a positive way probably helps the brain too. Recent research, though, shows that cognitive function is improved immediately after just ten minutes of aerobic exercise. If you need a brain recharge, walk up and down the stairs a few times.

Temperature And Mind Power

Many people have noted that they think better at certain temperatures. In general, it seems that being slightly cool, but not uncomfortable, is most conducive to good thinking. Try experimenting on yourself to see what temperature works best for you.

Become A Problem Solver

Just use a problem solving technique for several weeks and it will become a habit. Redesign everything you see for a while, and that will become a habit. Choose any of the many problem solving techniques and train yourself to use it, and you'll have a more powerful mind. Many good thinking habits take some effort to develop, but then you will be more resourceful effortlessly from that point on. Use the power of habit to improve your mind power.

Develop Your Intuition

Einstein relied heavily on intuitive hunches. Because of his intuitive grasp of the game, Gary Kasparov can beat the best chess computer even though the computer can calculate positions many moves further ahead. Experience allows him to combine analysis with a "sense" of which move is best.

Your skill, knowledge and experience determine the potential effectiveness of your intuition. A weak chess player will never intuitively beat that computer. When enough good information is in your mind, it will go to work for you with or without your conscious participation, so feed it well. Also, watch for intuition to encourage it.

Sniff Roses or Rose Oil

This is relaxing for some people. The idea here is that sometimes you are too "wound up" for effective thinking. Relaxing can bring you back to a state where you can start again on a mental challenge, this time with more clarity. Again, I haven't seen any studies done on this, but it seems safe enough to try.

Adjust Your Mind Power Beliefs

Believe you are smarter, and you'll become smarter. For this, affirmations may work, but even better is seeing evidence. Make a note of your successes. Tell yourself, "Hey, that was really creative," when you do something creative. When you have a good idea, make a note of it. Gather the evidence for your own mind power and you'll start to experience more of it.

Steve Gillman wrote the e-book, 100 Ways To Increase Mind Power. Why should I? Are you not an extraordinary person? What do you think about yourself? You possess all the assets of an extraordinary person but, unfortunately, you are not an extraordinary person because you don’t think so.

Your low belief level about your own capabilities is blocking your way in achieving extraordinary success in life. Your Creator gave you the equal opportunity of becoming an extraordinary person in your own individual manner. He equipped your body with the same tools and gadgets as he equipped the body of any other extraordinary person. No extraordinary organ has been implanted by God in the bodies of those people who are living or have lived an extraordinary life.

You must be working hard to maintain a reasonable standard of life for yourself and your family. Is it enough? Can you become an extraordinary person just by doing 9 to 5 jobs? Absolutely not! Don’t walk on the off-beaten tracks paved for the ordinary people. Don’t follow the crowd and don’t copy others. You are not an ordinary person.
There is an extraordinary person within you. Give that person a chance to lead you. The more you seek guidance from your inner-self, the more you feel confident about your capabilities as an extraordinary person.

Being an extraordinary person, with a strong belief level, you can go to the peak of success, beyond any person’s imagination. Raise up your arms in the air, smile and let the world praise you as an extraordinary person.

Do you need any extraordinary skills to become an extraordinary person? Not necessarily! A little guidance from your inner-self and the wise management of your time is all that you need to bring a positive revolution in your life. But most importantly, you must enhance your belief level to become an extraordinary person.

Are you an extraordinary person? Still undecided!

Hifzur Rehman is the editor his website http://www.selfimprovement.ch which is a great source of FREE self-improvement related material, thoroughly scrutinized for its practical importance and positive impact on human life.

Hifzur Rehman © 2004 – All Rights Reserved.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Hifzur_Rehman

Mind Maps - Brainstorming for Business Success

By Michael Russell

In the business world, people often hear the term "Think outside the box", with little or no explanation as to how to actually do that. Everyone is just expected to know how, figure it out, or find another job. Brainstorming sessions often lead to a slew of ideas from a group, but with little or no structure, it's difficult to tell what ideas are worth pursuing and which are wasting space.

There is a brainstorming strategy that, when used with a couple of other follow-up methods, will allow for creative thoughts to come from the group and still home in on the ideas that will actually benefit the overall goal. The three steps of the strategy are mind maps, t-analysis and action plan creation. Let's look at the first step, mind maps.

This step does a couple of things for a group brainstorm: it acts as an ice breaker, it gets people's brains pointing in the right direction and it can produce ideas that might not otherwise surface during just a normal call and response brainstorm session. Break your group up into smaller groups of at most 4 or 5. With each group should be a large sheet of paper (lecture board paper will do fine) and several different colored markers. The groups should be instructed to write the focus of your brainstorm in the middle of the paper and draw a circle around it. So if you were interested in brainstorming new ways to market a particular product, you'd write the product name in the middle of the paper. If you wanted to brainstorm on ways to control costs, you'd write Costs in the middle of the paper.

Once this is done, instruct the groups to draw lines branching out from the center and to write down anything that relates to the central thought. Remind them several times during the exercise that it doesn't matter how relevant or not it is, simply write down what comes to mind. As groups write down different items, they should circle those and branch off these sub-topics as well. What ends up happening is groups will get a large network of ideas branching off the central thought, some of which may interconnect as well (and if they do, instruct the groups to draw a line connecting the two sub-topics). While the initial sub-topics will be things that are likely already being done or are an obvious connection, the branches off the sub-topics are where the true ideas start to emerge and some new thoughts are likely to present themselves here.

Once the groups have completed their mind maps, open up discussion and have each group step through their mind map. Highlight new ideas and encourage discussion on items that may initially seem unrelated, to be sure there isn't a potentially great idea hidden in there. Also highlight common sub-topics listed between groups, as this indicates things that are either already in place, or things the group thinks should be in place. Discuss the effectiveness of these items and what will ultimately happen is a list of actionable items will begin to surface through discussion. Between the mind maps, the discussion and the list, your group will have their minds actively engaged in coming up with action steps to put some of the new ideas into place. Once this is done, your next step will be to conduct a T-analysis on the topics.

So to lead a powerful brainstorm session, it's important to have a game plan in place. Mind maps help focus the group in the right direction and enable discussions that will help everyone as a group "think outside the box".

Michael Russell

Your Independent guide to Brainstorming

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Michael_Russell

When You're Extraordinary, You Gotta to Do Extraordinary Things

By Don Doman

I can't image a life without music and song. A good song can heat up your emotions. It can promise greatness. It can fill your mind with creative thoughts. It can inspire you to greater achievement and success. When a good song is matched with good lyrics, it can talk to your soul.

""Every man has his daydreams Every man has his goal People like the way dreams have Of sticking to the soul."-- Corner of the Sky by Stephen Schwartz

In the fall of 1973 I found myself in Philadelphia with a little time to kill. I was there for corporate training, but had finished. Everyone flew home except Ed and I. He had been to New York once. I had never been there. We decided to travel the short distance to New York City and enjoy ourselves.

We visited Macy's department store where I bought my wife perfume. We stayed at the Waldorf-Astoria. We ate at a fancy fondue restaurant, which was the current rage. We attended a Broadway show and finished off the evening at The Playboy Club. That one day in New York cost me more than I could afford, but as the saying goes, the memories are priceless.

The Broadway show was Pippin starring John Rubenstein, Jill Clayburg, and Ben Verine. Pippin was a Bob Fosse musical. At the time I didn't know who Bob Fosse was, but I found out. I've grown to admire his dancing and direction. I had seen John Rubenstein and some of the dancers perform a number from the show on Johnny Carson, but that was all I really knew about the play.

The music was inspiring. I've always had self-confidence, but the music pumped me up, so I was like self-confidence on steroids. One of my songs was Corner of the Sky.

""Rivers belong where they can ramble Eagles belong where they can fly I've got to be where my spirit can run free Got to find my corner of the sky."-- Corner of the Sky by Stephen Schwartz

I had completed a course in goal setting and at the time was president of the Tacoma Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees). I wanted to help humanity and accomplish great things. That song combined with the message of another song stuck with me. The other song was Extraordinary.

""When you're extraordinary You gotta do extraordinary things"-- Extraordinary by Stephen Schwartz

I didn't return home and set the world on fire, but I did return home filled with fire. I'm not the king of the universe, but I have accomplished many things at home, in business and in the community.

Many times while I'm working I'll sing to myself the phrase "Rivers belong where they can ramble, eagles belong where they can fly" and then slip into "When you're extraordinary, You gotta do extraordinary things." I stop what I'm doing, and think back to my one day in New York City. Then I get back to the task at hand . . . and work and dream . . . a little harder.

Don Doman is a published author, video producer, and corporate trainer. Bernard Wechsler

I just finished reading a list of twenty good reasons – why intelligent people fail. How about the reasons why intelligent people succeed?

R. Sternberg, the author of - In Search of the Human Mind, 1994, published by Harcourt Brace, really deserves a round of applause. Not because he captures all the reasons why really bright students and adults can flop-and flounder, but because our mind instinctively seeks the opposite of his negative statements.

Whenever someone engages in overkill to convince us, he/she attacks our self- image, and we mentally argue the other side. The most successful ads are those that begin with an admission of failure or a lapse of judgment.

When someone admits to a shortcoming – their credibility soars, and we read or watch the rest of their commercial – on-their-side.

1. The Power of motivation: we human beans must have a personal reason, even a dumb one will do, to excite our will to exert an effort.
Watching a really awful, mindless TV movie for 120 minutes has to be justified. How about - it does not require concentration, so it relaxes me after a hard day

How about learning to speed read, or briefing five law cases, or critiquing an office report of 25 single-spaced pages?

No acceptable motivation – no work.

There are positive motivations – a higher grade, pass-the-exam, or win a promotion works. Negative motivations work even better.

That is exactly right; fear of failing the exam, losing that promotion to one of your peers, or being thought of as dumb-as-a-stone by your associates, really get your engine accelerating.

Before you start the project, take 30 seconds to write down a few reasons, positive and negative, to buckle down to succeed. We tested it, and it works.

2. Impulse Control: make it a rule to never go with your instantaneous answer. Intuition from your right brain is useful in creative thinking, but only after you get all eight-cylinders running. Get into the swing before you stop using your left-brain and its reasoning power.

Our research indicates that 81% of successful executives make it a point to not act emotionally, nor appear impulsive to others. 3. Persistence and Determination: perseverance is the winning trait of students who ace school, and executives who win the gold.

Anyone can start a project – learn to speed read, create a new advertising campaign, or start to write a book for fun or profit; only 20% will complete the assignment .

It is the old 80/20 rule, popularized by Vilfredo Pareto, the Italian Economist who taught at the University of Florence in 1886. His research concluded that 20% of the population controlled 80% of the wealth.

Distractions are our way of life; we start at 90 miles per hour, slow down to a crawl, and switch our efforts in midstream to something else.

Grit to succeed is everything in Mastering a subject. IQ is nice, but pig-headed determination to win-the-gold separates the winners from …

4. Fear of Failure: we all experience thoughts of rejections, making mistakes, and looking like a numbskull. The fear can drive us to quit before we fail, by never starting the project. It can also drive us to exercise our volition, free will of choice and decision-making to make it work.

Sounds corny – there is no failure – just experience and feedback. John D. Rockefeller of Standard Oil told his troops – no great risks, no great rewards. In the 21st century – we say – Go-for-it.

5. Excessive dependency: 80% of CEOs of major companies pride themselves on their lack of computer-literacy. It is changing in 2006, but it proves their power by having a secretary or two to service their computer requirements.

Do you expect others to do the learning for you? Is the instructor responsible for your cognitive growth?

All intelligent people are Auto Didacts – self-taught. It is in your Websters.

You cannot control your environment, but 50% of the result is in your hands.

6. Limited Attention Span: there aint no such thing, except for those certified as incompetent.

You choose to focus your attention-span where your interests lead you. If you are bored to tears about politics or economics, and know all the players and statistics of your favorite team, it is a choice and personal decision, right?

7. Immediate or Delayed Gratification: again it is your choice based on your interests and desires. If we are studying for school or career, we need to objectify the benefits-to-us to continue striving, and not go shopping, golfing or watch a hot new DVD.

8. Distractibility and Lack of Concentration: The primary cause of procrastination is not dumbness nor laziness, but permitting distracting ideas to control our mind. We strongly suggest you do NOT have music in the background when working, and if the project is important, use earplugs.

We have tested wearing earplugs while studying in school or the office and 72% report they have made it their standard operating procedure.

9. Inability to Finish a Project: More students have been forced to dropout of school, and executives downsized to the unemployment line because they could start with a fury, but fade-out in the stretch.

What makes one student or executive reliable and worthy of the fast-track, while the majority fakes their way through their responsibilities, and gets nowhere?

We call it Grit, persistence and determination. Forget the name – exercise your will to persevere or enter the world of self-pity and the blame-game.

10. Too Little or Too Much Self-Confidence: Do you think 50% of your peers suffer too much or too little egotism?

Remember the 80/20 rule. Research indicates that self-esteem, a positive self-image is held by only 20%, while the rest talk a good fight but do not act to justify their self-confidence.

Keep a diary of your successes and your rejections. Benjamin Franklin called it Prudential Algebra, a list of Pros and Cons of decision-making. Use this resource to track your personal growth by listing what you consider your wins and loses.

Our graduates review it monthly to see changes in their level of self-confidence. Remember – whatever is tracked – improves - because you are aware of what is occurring in your career, not guessing.

Not creating a personal report of your experiences – is like playing basketball without a hoop – no feedback, no knowledge. Grab hold of your will, and you reinforce True Grit.

See ya,

copyright © 2006

H. I always find it amusing when I read or hear of stories about people and their goals in life. One of the main goals of so many people is to start their own business. It seems that just about everybody wants to but not many do. Most just aren’t motivated.

I’d like to share what motivated me to start my own business.

I like to drive. Driving is my favorite thing to do. I take a lot of road trips and I even like to drive through my own city to explore. I often find myself driving past multi million dollar homes and wonder to myself, “What do these people do to be able to afford such beautiful homes?” Sometimes, expensive or exotic cars pass me on the highway… Porsche, Benz, Aston Martin, BMW, Bentley. I love driving; I always wonder how much nicer my experience would be in one of these cars. I drive by airports and watch private planes taking off and landing. These are owned by rich people that can afford private planes to take them away on their many vacations. I wonder to myself, “I love driving; I wonder if I would love flying a plane just as much?” On top of that, what if I had the time to do these things and everything else that I enjoy?

Having money is one thing, but time is invaluable. Time lets you do the things you want to do and money allows you to afford it. So I looked at my life and it was 9-5 day after day, month after month, year after year. If I want to have the things I want to have and do the things I want to do, I would not achieve these goals working 9-5 on salary.

The only way to achieve my goals is to start a business. So I did. I thought about the risks involved. The main thing was the start-up capital required. For my business it was a $20,000 investment. That was a lot of money for me. It was paid on credit. I had to justify it somehow. If the business ends up being a success the benefits are obvious. I get to have and do all the things that I want. If the business fails, I lose $20,000. The upside is unlimited the downside is a $20,000 loss. If I lose, and I lose the $20,000, my lifestyle, really, would not change. I would pay the $20,000 back in small monthly increments.

I think that this is the main problem with everybody that wants to start their own business; everybody wants the success that it can bring but they are terrified of the potential for failure. If people were to just realize that failure is not so bad, we would have more people starting their own business and enjoying life more, as a result.

Think about this: the company that you currently work for was, at some point, started by somebody; it might be a small business or it might be a large corporation. But it was started by someone who had the motivation to succeed, took the risk, and made it happen. Now you work for him and he is earning money from your productivity. You have a job because he took a risk. Wouldn’t you just love to be in his position? You can, but the first step is to find your own motivation!

Tino Buntic had the motivation to start his own business, TradePals, over a year ago. TradePals provides sales leads to business professionals and entrepreneurs to help them generate more business for themselves.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tino_Buntic

Dirty Little Computer Viruses and How To Protect Yourself

By Dan Preston

Whether you have learned your lesson from a past experience with a nasty computer virus or have been pressing your luck by surfing the web and downloading various files or opening those email messages sent to you by people you don’t know without any real understanding of just how vulnerable you really are each time you log onto your computer you now have the opportunity to discover what steps you can take to avoid such an annoying and many times destructive infestation.

Listed below are some of the guidelines you can follow in order to keep those nasty viruses from making a mess out of your computer and your life.

•Purchase and install a well respected antivirus software program and be sure to set it up so that it automatically runs when the computer starts up each time.

•Make sure to keep your antivirus software up to date by either using the automatic update feature that many come with or make it a habit to manually check at least once or twice a week for updates on your own.

•Set your antivirus program to scan for potential viruses each time you open a word-processing document like the ones that get sent through email. Viruses found in word-processing documents are called Macro Viruses

•When purchasing software make sure to only buy from vendors that are well known and from ones you trust.

•Resist swapping data with the use of floppy disks or other mobile storage devices between various computers. If exchanging programs between computers is unavoidable just make sure to scan the storage device(s) for viruses before transferring data from one computer to the next.

•If using floppy disks to transfer data make sure to format them before using them for the first time.

•Never use pirated software. This is both illegal and a very good way to invite an unwanted computer virus.

•When downloading software from the internet do so as little as possible. There are many neat programs available on the internet, but unfortunately there are many viruses that go along with them also.

•If you must download programs from the internet ALWAYS scan them for viruses BEFORE opening them up to install on your computer.

•Probably the most important and neglected method of disaster recovery are periodic backups of all important files found on your computer. Should a virus happen to get through your lines of defense you may need to replace the virus corrupted files with fresh ones that have been kept for such an occasion.

Finally, it is not guaranteed that if you follow the above steps that you will not be the victim of a computer virus, but you can sure bet that if followed you will greatly reduce the chance of being an unsuspecting recipient of such an unwanted program.

Dan devotes much time working on his internet ventures. He currently has a T-Shirt store at http://www.cafepress.com/giftsandtshirts and an ebook store at http://infoheaven-digital-books.com that caters to his visitors.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Dan_Preston

Desktop Computer Basics

By Dave Stewart

When buying a computer it helps to know some basic information about components and processes. Hopefully these explanations will give you a better understanding of how a computer functions, and enable you to ask the salesman some productive questions.

CPU
The CPU or central processing unit, basicly the CPU interprets instructions and processes data generated by computer programs. The CPU is often seen as the 'brain' of the computer. The central processing unit controls other components.

Motherboard
The motherboard is often refered to as the mainboard, system board or mobo. The motherboard is the primary circuit board, Most components (CPU, Memory, Graphics cards, Sound cards, Hard drives, Optical devices, Network cards etc..) are attached to the motherboard. Either by cables or by plugging directly into the motherboard slots. Mainboards come in a range of sizes, or factor forms, however the most common is ATX.
RAM
RAM or Random Access Memory describes storage formats and equipment that allow data to be accessed in any order (random), not just sequence. RAM can be thought of as the 'working space' of your computer. Typically memory is cleared when the computer is shut down or reset.

Hard Drive
Hard drives allow the storage of data on the computer. They are generally found in two formats IDE (Integrated Drive Electronics) or SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment). Hard Drives utilise magnetism to read and write data. A hard disk uses rotating 'platters' or disks which are made up of millions of 'bits'. These 'bits' can be aligned in two directions, one direction is assigned '0' the other '1'. Data is stored in binary code by exerting a magnetic force on each bit, causing it to align in the desired value.

Graphics Card
The Graphics card or Video card provides, as the name suggests, the video output from your computer. Some cheaper motherboards, refered to as "All-in-One" Motherboards have onboard graphics. However these are very low end graphics solutions, and will only be useful for those not wishing to do anything but basic word proccessing, internet browsing and work. For those that use their computer to play games a seperate video card is a must.

Sound Card
Sound cards provide the audio output for your computer. Nearly all motherboards come with an onboard sound module these days, which for most people will be more than sufficient. However seperate sound cards can be purchased for those seeking higher quality, more feature rich audio.

Optical Drives
Optical drives (DVD/CD readers and writers) are similar to standard CD or DVD players. They utilise the same technology to perform the same tasks as the conventional devices, only made to function in computers.

Hopefully this has given you an insight into the modern desktop computer, and will help you when making a purchase. If you can, then you know that back then, a typewriter was just a typewriter. Then IBM came out with the one with the ball. It was a really big deal because you could actually change the font.

The personal computer much revolutionized the way we communicate. Now the rest is history with some many applications, games; how can anyone live without a computer? Sometimes it seems as if there is only one type of computer, absolutely not true.

Like so many of us today, I have virtually been tethered to a computer for about ten years and I also thought that all computers were created equally until I began using an Apple desktop computer or Mac.

An Apple desktop computer is about the same as an ordinary computer as a horse is to a cow. The cow runs, well, like a cow. The horse (and the Apple desktop computer) is sleek and efficient, build for performance. Can you tell that I'm an Apple fan by now? Yeah? It is pretty obvious as it? The cow will do what you want it to with a little encouragement. The apple desktop computer lives to follow your commands just like the horse. The cow needs to rest and often quits working 'just because'. The Mac continues to go on and on and on because that is what it is made to do.

Daiei may think I'm just talking out my butt here but I became a true believer after a month with my Apple desktop and quickly came to the realization, it never once crashed on me. The 'cow' crashes all the time. Sure, if you worked with a PC for a long time, you'll need a period of adjustment to wean yourself away. Not that the Apple computer is hard; it is just a little bit different.

To open a file from the "finder" known on a PC as the explorer, you can't press 'return' that takes some getting use to. And here is another thing that is not the same with an Apple desktop. No viruses. I do not even own a virus cleaning system because I don't need it, although I keep a virus checker going in the background on my Apple desktop computer just in case. And what do you suppose it finds? PC viruses that have no effect on my Mac.

Another great advantage of owning an Apple computer is the automatic software updates from the Internet. It actually communicates to the Internet and automatically updates itself. No checking the website, no having to decide what you need. The complete shebang is updated automatically. Pretty cool, huh?

I always tell my pals, my Apple desktop computer is a real computer; the "other one" is nothing more than a pretender.

Morgan Hamilton offers his findings and insights regarding the world of computers.
